gcal-common software package provides gcal architecture independent files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcal-common
gcal-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcal-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcal-common *
You will get with gcal-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
